Round 3 - Sat 19th / Sun 20th April

U6 - Washed out

U7 v Lidcombe Falcons Orange Won by Forfeit

U8 Blue v Merrylands SFC Loss 7-0

U8 Red v Lidcombe Waratah Won 4-1
A good result for all with great goals to Tait, John and Revell (2).
Top tackling and passing Brandon, Sophie, Leah, Liam and Aladdin. Keep
up the good work as we have made a great improvement with each game
played this year. This will continue with more hard training.
U9 div 2 - Washed out

U10 div 5 v St Josephs Loss 4-2

U11 div 2 v Baulkham Hills Loss 3-0

U12 div 4 v Rouse Hill Rams Loss 2-1

U13 div 3 - Washed out

U16 div 2 v Castle Hill United Loss 3-2

O35 div 4 v Ermington United Loss 1-0
A good game with 10 players. Darko with a strike from range just over
the bar. Ermo scored after 20 min with a curling left foot strike
inside the far post. But they didn't press home any advantage and their
attack withered on the flanks (good work from our wingers and backs). A
good 2nd half saw us with a few chances but running out of legs.
O35 div 5 v Granville Kewpies Won 6-2

Senior 3 - Washed out

Senior 6 v Pendle Hill Loss 2-1

U12 girls v Kellyville Won 6-0

U14 girls div 1 v Lidcombe Waratah Draw 5-5

Lucky to escape with a draw today. Girls need to mark and stay with our opposition. We also have to commit to the ball instead of watching it. Good game in goals by Kate who seems to be a natural and also Cleo who impresses every week.

U16 girls div 2 v Guildford County Won 2-0

Terrific game played with 11 players partly in pouring rain. We dominated the midfield with great control and passing from Daniela, Katelyn, Rochelle, Emily and Natasha. Our wingers Emily and Natasha (Player of the Match) held their width and created havoc running the ball down the sidelines and passing inside. Lauren S. was our sole striker and did her job putting away both our goals. Able support in attack was provided from Rochelle, Emily and Natasha running through. Even our backs made the occasional run forward. Backline was solid once again with Lauren G. her usual cool self quickly defusing the oppositions attack with some solid physical defensive work. Rebekah, Danielle and Natalia all anticipated the play and turned GC's attack to the sides, leaving Megan little to do in goals other than to gather GC's occasional long range shots at goal. A great game by all and our 3rd consecutive win. Coach is very proud of this terrific team.

All Age Ladies div 5 - bye

ROUND 2 - 12th / 13th April

U/6 - Won 5-0 and Draw 1-1

Welcome and congratulations to our new player Maddison who scored our
first goal. Waseem scored a few and Jamal also scored one. Amber tried
hard and had one terrific shot which just went wide. Patrick again
played well and is looking for the pass which is great at U6 level.
Teamwork is improving with each week. The important thing is everyone
is enjoying themselves. Well done everyone!

U/7 v Castle Hill United White Loss 3-1

U/8 Blue v Lidcombe Waratah Blue Draw 1-1

U/8 Red v Winston Hills Loss 2-0

An improved game by all players. We are still adjusting to not having a
coach on the field and will continue to improve with more hard training.
Good work guys and keep up the effort.

U/9 div 2 v Kellyville Won 3-0

U/10 div 5 v Guildford County Loss 5-1

U/11 div 2 v Kellyville Draw 1-1

U/12 div 4 v Pendle Hill Won 5-0

U/13 div 3 v Granville Waratah Loss 9-0

U/16 div 2 v Greystanes Loss 5-0

O35/4 v North Rocks Loss 5-0

Once again conceding early goals killed us. We let NR waltz through the
midfield and shoot at will. A much better 2nd half only conceding 1
goal and creating a few chances for ourselves. A good first up game
from our new signing. We have to turn things around very quickly.

O35/5 v Winston Hills Black Loss 4-1

Senior 3's v Merrylands SFC Won 4-1

Senior 6's v Winston Hills Won 2-0

U/12 Girls v North Rocks Won 4-0

U/14 Girls div 1 v Kellyville Loss 5-1

U/16 Girls div 2 v Pendle Hill Won 4-2

11 players today and thanks to the girls from the 14's who helped us
out. 1st half we scored early when Rochelle tucked a nice shot into the
far corner from a tight angle after some good play from Daniela. A
lapse in concentration at the back saw PH get behind the defence a
couple of times and they managed to convert one of them. Renea scored
our 2nd with a lovely strike. Second half we played much much better -
passing was good and spreading out was better. We still need to move
the ball forward with a bit more urgency. Emily came out like a girl
possessed in the 2nd half and hit a lovely shot onto the right post
which rebounded into the goal. Even the short break for the lightning
storm near the end of the game didn't deter us and Emily promptly struck
another goal home into the back right corner. Solid work at the back
from Lauren, Danielle & Natalia. Natalia had an outstanding game
attacking the ball, earning her the Player of the Match. Mel was
unfortunate not to score after a couple of good attempts at goal.
Katelyn, Natasha and Emily played very well in the midfield. We missed
a few chances we should have put away. More work on fitness and
shooting.

AAL div 5 v Rouse Hill Rams Won 4-1

AAL div 2 v North Rocks Loss 5-3

Round 1 match results

Round 1 - Sat 5th / Sun 6th April

U6 Won 6-2 and Won 2-0
A new format this year for the U6's playing on a smaller field, with smaller goals and just 4 players per team and no goalie. Games were played at Greystanes and our 5 young players were anxious and eager to begin. 2 short games were played against 2 different groups of players. All our players scored goals either in the games or during the goal scoring drill between the games. Congratulations to Amber, Badie, Jamal, Patrick and Waseem for a great start to their soccer season. Hopefully Fayez will recover from his illness to join us for next weeks games.

U7 v Wenty Waratah Won 6-1
What a great way to start the season ... with a win!! We had some great goals from Epaphras and Tim. Joseph showed some really good skills by passing to his team mates when he had lots of defence around him and saved a couple of good trys at goal from Wenty. Romanous did a great job as our goalie in the 2nd half and never stopped chasing the ball. Mikhaila made some good tackles and didn't give up trying to get the ball from the other team. Sam and Daniel were always there to help out their team mates and also made some good tackles. We need to continue to practice on our defence, and chasing the ball even after we have kicked it. The team played really well and tried their hardest. Well done to all of them!!

U8 Blue v North Rocks Draw 3-3
Holroyd U8 Blue played their 1st competition game for the year at home against North Rocks U8 Blue. In fact this was their 1st game together this year. The game was a thrill a minute for all concerned with the result being a very pleasing 3 all draw. Holroyd got the ball rolling and scored quickly through Ethan Skinner. North Rocks were the next to score and we went to half time at 1 all. The boys and Billie (the only girl on the team) deserved a drink at half time. Both sides had played with a lot of skill and determination. In the 2nd half North Rocks scored to go ahead 2 - 1. Our boys were equal to the task and soon scored through George Chemuel. North rocks scored again before Ethan equalised to make it 3 - 3. Holroyd had the better of play in the 2nd half and were unlucky not to walk away with a win. Constant pressure and good team work along with individual skill by George and Ethan nearly got them the win. The most improved player was Joel Seymour and the Best Player on the day was Kyle Habkouk with some great defending. All the kids played well and Coach Jack Chemuel was very proud of them. Jack would also personally thank all the parents and grandparents for their support.

U8 Red v Baulkham Hills

U9/2 v Merrylands SFC Won 5-0
It was the first game for our U9/2 on the big field & what a game it
was. After looking like we were still sitting in the shed for the first
5 min Merrylands attacked from the outset & were unlucky not to score an
early goal but thanks to our goalie Brandon he prevented them from
scoring. Once the boys got the ball at their feet we were away. Our
first goal came in the sixth minute with some great passing from the
boys. The lead up work was done by Bradley, Kyle, Liam and then Ahmed
placed it beautifully in the back of the net. Not long after Merrylands
kicked off we were on the attack again thanks to some great work from
Leonardo. Merrylands managed to stave off the attack by getting the
ball out for our first corner. Leonardo placed the corner kick right in
the goal area and Ahmed did the rest with another great finish. Our
boys attacked again after the kick off down the right hand side of the
field with some great passing leading to Kyle scoring a cracker over the
keepers head from just inside the 18 yard box. Our next goal again came
from a corner. Leo put the corner again into the goal area and our new
boy Bradley did the rest against his old club. Just before half time
some great passing from Nathan Bampton, Liam and Kyle led to our 5th
goal by a good shot from Leonardo. At half time we led 5-0. In the
second half our defence had to do some work. The defence stood up with
a special mention to Josh, Saagar and Nathan Baker for keeping
Merrylands from scoring any goals as we rotated our players around the
park. A special mention to Konor who this year returned to soccer after
playing rugby league last year and he never stopped trying. A great
first game boys after a slow start. If we keep working hard at training
and practice our passing and team work we can only get better. A top
first game to ALL the boys, you made me proud. Everyone did their bit
for the team. Remember boys next week we need to be on our game from
the first kick off. Man of the Match Ahmed.
U10/5 v North Rocks Won 9-0
Today's game started off a bit slow, we only had 10 players compared to
North Rocks 16. At half-time we led 1-nil. It was great to see the new
players fitting in so well. The 2nd half saw the Rangers come to life
and started putting away the goals. Today's goal scorers were Moadassir
2, Mitchell 3, Mustapha 3 and William-Harley 1. The final score Rangers
9-nil. Well done guy's.
U11/2 v Pendle Hill Won 2-1

U12/4 v Wenty Waratah Won 5-0

U13 /3 v Merrylands SFC Draw 2-2

U16/2 v Kellyville Loss 7-1

O35/4 v Lidcombe Waratah Black Loss 5-2
3 quick goals introduced us to the season the wrong way. Musky's run
into the box was obstructed and Ace slotted home the penalty. Slow Fox
went off as Lame Fox. Fluey CHop had one good run and then subbed off.
Darko's cross onto Air-Eddies melon was a gem for our 2nd. We have to
stop the soft goals to be competitive this year.

O35/5 v Granville Kewpies Won 10-0
The opening game of the season was a bit of an anticlimax with only 8
players for Kewpies turning up and no official ref. We were not tested
and dominated the play. Jack Jurisic top scored with the goals followed
by Dennis Out, Michael Borg and Domenic Mastrippolito. Kewpies never
looked like scoring even with the aerial long shots from the half way
mark. They made a number of runs down the side and crossed the ball to
have no one in the middle. We made some good runs and had plenty of
options at the end. Domenic Mastrippolito was voted man of the match.
Senior 3's v Greystanes Loss 2-1

Senior 6's v Baulkham Hills Won 9-0
Another great start to the season by the boys. We dominated from the
start with cosi celebrating another year with the season opener, then a
great cross from Age hit pava in the box to make it 2, Juls also found
the net which made it 3-0 half time. The 2nd half saw us put away
another 6 with hat tricks to Pava and Juls and Baza and Greksa getting
their names on the score sheet. Man of the match would have to have
been Luka the Bling Vula with a faultless display!
U12G v Pendle Hill Loss 10-0

U14G/1 v North Rocks Won 2-0

U16G/2 v Winston Hills Won 1-0
Just 10 of our girls available today & we were fortunate to have help
from our other girls teams. WH had more of the attack than we did but
our solid backline of Danielle, Rebekah and Lauren never budged. When
WH did break through Megan was superb in goals & was quickly off her
line to block shots or gather the ball. Great midfield work from
Daniela and Natasha, with Rochelle & Mel combining up front really well.
We had a few good chances which we should have put away. Our goal was a
scramble in front of goal which Miray poked home. However the
difference today was our defence and our goalie, keeping WH from scoring
& getting us the win. Player of the Match was Danielle for holding
position & clearing well from the back.
AAL/5 v Winston Hills Won 4-0

AAL/2 v Castle Hill RSL Won 5-4
