Holroyd Rangers welcomed a visit by Matilda’s player
Catherine Cannuli to Guildford West Sportsground on Thursday evening 28th
June. Catherine chatted with our coaches and club officials before running the
training session for our U10s team.
A series of warm up routines was followed by a variety of fun drills to develop individual ball skills as well as improve teamwork. It was noted that our U10s team were very attentive for the entire training session and were heard later saying how much fun they had. All our U10 players thanked Catherine for her visit and a group photo was taken to finish off. Catherine is a relative of one of the players in our U10s team.
Catherine has just completed a training camp with the Matildas squad (Australian womens soccer team) which concluded with 2 international friendly games against New Zealand – the results of which were a 1-1 draw followed a few days later by a 2-0 win to Australia.
Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club says thanks to Catherine for volunteering her time and visiting our club and she is welcome back at any time. We wish Catherine lots of luck with her international career and also in the upcoming W-League season.
