RIP Melaina Cook

Thanks to the GDSFA General Manager Michael Briggs for his kind words at tonights Association meeting and for asking all those present from the GDSFA clubs to be up-standing and observe 1 minutes silence out of respect for Melaina Cook.

U13s

We tried to get an U13s team together but with very few players from last years U12s returning plus only a few new players signed up, we find we do not have enough committed players to form an U13s team at Holroyd this season. Any players who have registered and paid will get a full refund - come in to our clubhouse either this Wed or next between 630-8pm. Any players who have registered but not paid need do nothing further as you are free to register elsewhere.

Vale - Melaina Cook - RIP

It is with great sadness to report the passing of Melaina Cook this morning after her battle with cancer. Melaina was the club registrar for Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club for 5 years from 2007 - 2011. Melaina was a player in our All Age Ladies team for a few years in the early 2000's. As club registrar Melaina oversaw and championed the transition from a paper-based registration system to what was to become our current on-line registration system. Both of Melaina's daughters Hayley and Rochelle have played soccer at our club, with Rochelle and and her son (Mel's grandson) Jayden still being current players. We express our deepest sympathies to Melaina's family and friends. Melaina was my friend and she will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace Melaina.

U13s training

Training for our U13s team will be held on Tuesday 24th Feb at 6.00pm at Guildford West Sportsground, Foray St, Guildford West. Players should bring their own water, boots and shin pads, and ask for coach Joe. Thank you to those players who turned up on Tue 17th and Wed 18th and on behalf of coach Joe we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the mix-up and delays this week.

Next chance for people to attend our clubhouse for registrations will be Wed 18th Feb from 630 - 730pm. Places still available for boys and girls wanting to play who are aged 5 - 13 inclusive. Registration open days

A successful first registration open day completed tonight. Many new players to the club as well as many returning players signing up. Teams and the club looking good for 2015.

We are looking for a few new coaches for this year. If you are interested please get in touch with us. Mainly for our young and very young teams - no experience necessary, just plenty of enthusiasm.

Next rego open day is Sat 7th from 10am - 2pm.

A reminder that registrations should be completed by 26th Feb so we can nominate your team / age group with the Association.
