Round 4 match results

Sat 9th May
U6 Green v Merrylands SFC U6/A Loss 6-1
A big effort by all our boys this week, with lots of tackling undertaken by Sam and Andre. Despite his sore leg, Sam played a great game, really taking on board the tackling theme of last weeks training. Andre ran hard and put in lots of effort. Ben and Lemour also had a good game with both boys practising their dribbling or "little kicks" down the field. Jamie also got a few good touches of the ball while he was on which was great to see. Rosilenn's improving tackles were definitely missed this week, but even soccer has to come 2nd to your own birthday party! Overall, the Greens are really uniting as Rangers and slowly putting together the soccer skills they're learning at training, which is great to see. Good effort guys!

U6 Black v Merrylands SFC U6/D Won 3-0
A great game to watch as the boys really used this game to concentrate on their passing and tackling. Costa had a fantastic game, scoring twice and making a few break throughs down the wing. Our other goal scorer, Fayez, proved listening really pays off - and was rewarded for his great listening with a nice goal in the 2nd half. Ben played a great second game but needs to remember we can't use our hands in soccer, and Lemour and Andre, who stuck around to support their team mates, also had great runs. Player of the week goes to Jonah, who, on top of playing hard for the Blacks by passing to his team mates and having some great kick-ins, really listened to his coaches and concentrated throughout the whole game. Congratulations guys!

U7 v Merrylands SFC U7/D Loss 2-1

Goal scored by Amber Robertson. Coach’s Trophy went to William Bremner for most improved. Major improvement by all players. Welcome to our new player Caliyah.

U8 Purple v Castle Hill RSL Won 8-0
U9 div 3 v Dundas Loss 7-0
U12 div 3 v North Rocks Draw 1-1
A very even game North Rocks scored first half and our boys equalised in the last minute. The boys are getting fitter. Just the little things like first touch letting us down. Keep trying hard and it will all come together. (David - coach)

U13 div 4 v Granville Kewpies Draw 3-3
A very tough game against an aggressive team. We scored first through a head from Tyler after a terrific cross. Some of the game was scrappy with both teams hassling for the ball in the middle of the field but when we got to passing freely it was pretty to watch. The game see-sawed with us scoring the equaliser with 6 minutes to go. We had several quality build ups to earn shots on goal and Ryan who was good in both defense and attack scored twice and is our man of the match. It was our most complete effort so far this year with all players contributing. Please note: although he is injured Mitchell attends all games and has taken on a team support role until he can take the field again - thanks for your team spirit Mitchell.

U14 div 4 v St Michaels Won 2-0
U18 div 1 v Winston Hills White Loss 5-1
O45 div 1 v Pendle Hill Loss 8-1
O35 div 6 v Rouse Hill Rams Won 3-2
The drought is finally over. Beer tastes heaps better after a win. First win for 18 months, we estimate 27 games. Good hard game between 2 good sides looking to win. Rouse Hill scored 2 goals in first 10 mins. Mr Alib scored our first and then a pen made it 2-2 at half time. Second half belonged to Rouse Hill but you have to score goals with all those shots and our keeper was very good also. 3rd goal from a corner 10 from time. Held on for good enjoyable win. Few injuries to both sides hopefully none to serious. Gee this beer tastes good. (Match report courtesy of SlowFox)

Senior 3 v Castle Hill RSL Won 3-2
Senior 4 v North Rocks Won 7-2

Sun 10th May
U14G div 1 v Pendle Hill Draw 1-1
U16G div 2 v Kellyville Loss 2-1
A very even game with Kellyville striking first and then we equalised a little later to go to the break at 1-1. Kellyville played the long ball game to their fast striker and that’s what got them their first goal. We dropped back our sweeper and this nullified that aspect of their game. Megan came off her line several times very well-timed. Our goal was the result of a couple of nice passes from Sarah R and Kacey to Sheri on the right who struck it neatly inside the far post. Kellyville went ahead early 2nd half from a free-kick just outside the box which cleared our wall and Megan got across to it alright but could not stop it going in. Our controlled play in midfield was much better than Kellyville and we had several good build-ups towards goal but did not take the shot when we had the chance. We had a couple of great chances to equalise late in the game but one shot went wide and the penalty was hit straight at the keeper. Girls – we need to take more shots when we are in and around their keepers area. Otherwise I’m really pleased with the overall effort today. Special mention to Cassie with top work in defence, and Adriana and Sarah R both played their best games so far. Emily kept the pressure on their defence up front. Player of the Match was Kacey whose constant tackling, winning the ball & great passing from the midfield was the highlight of the game.

AAL div 4 v Kellyville Draw 1-1
Ladies, it is great to see that we are going out there to play each team as we find them on the day and not worrying about past results from the opposition. With 3 players away, two of them being our main goal keeper and substitute goal keeper and one a defender, we had to go out there hard in attack and in defense and make sure of every opportunity. And we did. The spectators said it was a great game to watch, and credit is due to each and every player who never gave up. Welcome back Sherrie - we missed you. Special mention to Mel who tackled and won nearly every ball, creating havoc for the opposition and plenty of opportunities for us in attack.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!
