Free FNSW coaching sessions in August

In 2009 FNSW High Performance Department has
developed a new initiative designed to assist coaches
in specific coaching of different age groups.

These will be held on Monday nights 6.30pm - 8.00pm at
Valentine Sports Park as follows:

Please note ALL COACHES WELCOME to attend these
updates - just turn up – FREE OF CHARGE

Grass Roots Coaching Update - Monday 3rd August
(for coaches coaching at grassroots level
ages 5 - 7 years)

This will help the coaches of our youngest players
(aged between 5 and 7 years old) with tips and hints
on working with this group, improving motor skills
and developing a lifelong love for the game.

Junior Coaching Update - Monday 10th August
(for coaches coaching 8-11 years of age)

The aim of this program is to provide these coaches
with the necessary tools to conduct various game centred
and technical practices to improve a players' awareness,
improve their understanding of the game and develop
technique. The updates are suited to coaches coaching
8-11 years of age.

Youth Coaching Update - Monday 17th August.
(for coaches coaching 12-15 years of age)

The aim of this program is to provide these coaches
with the necessary tools to conduct various game
centred and technical practices to improve a players'
awareness, improve their understanding of the game
and develop technique. The updates are suited to
coaches coaching 12-15 years of age.

Senior Coaching Update - Monday 24th August
(for coaches coaching 16 to seniors)

Coaches will be able to gain a valuable insight
into the tactical and technical side of the game
with presentations from experienced coaches who
will conduct sessions. The updates are suited to
coaches coaching 16 to seniors.



Multicultural Women's Sport Leaders program

NSW Sport and Recreation is running the Multicultural
Womens Sports Leaders program in October 2009.

This program has been designed to enable women from
multicultural backgrounds to gain skills and knowledge
to assist others in their communities to become more
involved in sporting and physical activities.

Previous programs have been highly successful and
allowed participants the opportunity to gain very
useful skills and establish valuable networks with
others working in sport and recreation in the
community.

The course covers sports administration and leadership
and is offered to all successful applicants free of
charge.
