2008 Registration Dates

Registration dates for Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club for the 2008 season are Saturday 2nd February from 10:00am to 2:00pm and Saturday 9th February from 10:00am to 2:00pm, at the clubhouse at Guildford West Sportsground, Foray St (off Fairfield Rd), Guildford West.

New players will need to bring an original birth certificate or simlar (we will keep a copy), photo I.D., and attend in person to have their photo taken, complete a registration form, and pay the rego fee. Fees for 2008 are Rooball (U6 to U8) $75, Juniors (9 to 17) $125, Full time students $150, and Adults/Seniors $240.

Annual General Meeting

The Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 20th November in the clubhouse commencing at 7:30pm sharp. All welcome. All committee positions will be declared vacant and will be open for nomination. Come along and have a say in the future of your club for 2008.

End of Season Picnic

The official club End of Season Picnic will be held on Sunday 4th November at Western Sydney Regional Park starting from 10 am. Access to the park is directly off the roundabout at the intersection of Cowpasture Rd and The Horsley Drive. A catered lunch will be provided - BYO drinks. Communal tables are available for sharing of nibblies, sweets and desserts. Feel free to bring along a plate to share.
The park has shelter sheds, a playground, walking / cycle paths, and plenty of open space for games. Bring along seats, shadeports, bikes, scooters, games and anything else you can think of.
Please RSVP your teams coach / manager by Sunday 28th October for catering purposes. Any special dietary requirements should be made known.

Merrylands Central Gardens Display

Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club will have a display at the Merrylands Central Gardens amphitheatre on Sunday 28th October between 11 am - 3 pm. Come along and enjoy what promises to be a fun day with lots of different displays on offer from a wide variety of participants. Any help you can give us on the day would be appreciated. We will be settting up from 10 am. Any current players can wear their club shorts, socks and boots (we will supply the tops) as there will be some fun activities to take part in with good prizes available. 2007 Presentation

The Holroyd Rangers club Presentation for 2007 will be held on Sunday 23rd September at 6:30pm at St Patricks School Hall, Calliope St, Guildford.

It is expected to go for approx 2 hours. No catering will be provided and food and drink will not be available for purchase. It is expected that team photos will be available for distribution on this night.

This presentation is for all of our teams - rooball, juniors, seniors, and girls and ladies. With 9 of our teams making the semi-finals, 7 into Grand Finals, and 3 of our teams winning Grand Finals - along with various 5 and 10 Year awards - this year's Presentation looks to be a very special night.

A club picnic is being organised - with an open invitation for all of our players, parents, siblings, coaches, managers, and officials - tentatively scheduled for Sunday 4th November, at a location to be advised. This will be fully catered for by the Holroyd Rangers club, with the exception of drinks which are BYO.

The club Annual General Meeting will also be scheduled for later this year on a date to be advised.

U/12G/1 v Beaumont Hills Loss 3-0
Up against a team that has dominated this competition all season our girls played really well but were unable to get the result they wanted. Our girls should be proud of what they have acheived this year under their terrific coaching staff. Well done to all.

Final

U/16G/1 v Kellyville Won 4-1
This was a replay from last weeks washed out game that ended at 2-2 before being called off. Today our girls came out firing and set the pace early to lead 3-0 at half-time. Congratulations to this team for getting to the Grand Final for this competition for the 2nd consecutive year. The Grand Final game is scheduled for Sunday 2nd September. 3 Grand Final Wins for Holroyd Rangers on Sat 25th August

In the 5 Grand Finals that Holroyd Rangers teams were involved in today they came out winners in 3 of them.

U/9 div 6 v St Josephs Won 4-3
Leading 4-1 at half-time and enduring a 2nd half fight-back from St Josephs but Holroyd hung on to win.

U/10 div 3 v Lidcombe Waratah Loss 7-0
Holroyd went in as the underdogs to a Lidcombe team who had dominated the whole competition all season. A valiant effort and our players were gracious in defeat.

U/11 div 4 v Toongabbie Loss 4-0
A gutsy effort from our team but Toongabbie were too strong on the day.

U/12 div 5 v Lidcombe Falcons Won 2-1 in extra time
Going into this game as favourites as Minor Premiers and beating Lidcombe 1-0 in the Semi. At 12 minutes in a superb free-kick from Mark was deflected in for an own goal. With time ticking away it looked as though that would be the final result but with only a few minutes left on the clock Lidcombe scored the equalizer to send the game into extra time. 4 minutes in a superb strike from Daniel curled into the top corner to secure us the win.

Senior 7 v Toongabbie Won 4-0
A dominant display from start to finish our boys were solid all over the park and led 3-0 at the break, adding the 4th goal early in the 2nd half. 3 Grand Final wins in 3 years for this team - awesome!
