Hosting Finals at Guildford West Sportsground Sat 28th
A huge thank you to all those who helped out at our grounds today. It was an absolutely massive day and it would not have gone as well as it did without the help of you all. It doesn't matter whether you helped for an hour or were there all day, it was all very much appreciated. I think this shows the fantastic team spirit and camaraderie that we have at our club. Steve (GDSFA Sec) was there refereeing and thanked us for our hospitality.
Thank you all
John

There was lots of individual good play in the game today but we seemed to lose team formation and that gave the opposition their chances. So even though we all put our 100% in it just didn't click in the right way. It wasn't an enjoyable match either due to the behaviour of some of the opposition. Lets not dwell on it but learn from it, be positive, work on ways to improve and pick ourselves up from this one and move forward to the semis being proud of how far we have come..

Well ladies this had to be the match of the season. Every single player stepped up and made the game their own. Defense was rock solid and control of the ball was excellent. Balls were being brought down to the defenders feet and then with control kicked back up the field to one of our players. Midfield and forwards were anticipating and moving to receive the ball. Also they were using the field and lots of 1-2 touches to get around the Dundas defence. Our goalies also kept us in the game with their quick reflexes. As one of the team noted we went in hard after every ball even when not sure if we could get to it. We hassled and kept at Dundas until either we got the ball or made them kick it out or kick it blindly. We did not stop even though there were no reserves.
A special thanks to our coach who puts in lot of effort to improve our skills and to our family and friends who come along each week to support us and motivate us. Hope you guys enjoyed the match as much as we did.
While there may have been a vote for one player of the match, I believe every single player deserved player of the match this week. Super effort. Bring on the semis girls.

Holroyd Under 8's - great ambassadors for our club
Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club Committee has recently received the following email about our Under 8's team great sporting spirit.
From Greystanes Soccer Club Re U8/1’s
Please pass on my congratulations to your U8's team.
My boys played against them last week and it was a very enjoyable experience.
The kids from the Holroyd team played the game with good sportsmanship
The spectators were very encouraging to all the players and some even applauded good performances by Greystanes.
The referee (I assume one of their coaches) was very fair and honest in his interpretation of the game and gave both teams equal opportunities
The coach displayed great sportsmanship and when we only had a total of 6 players prior to kick off, he offered to only play 6 kids on his team too, so that we were equal, even though he had 4 reserves.
The Holroyd Rangers Soccer Club committee thanks the Under 8's players, parents, spectators and coach and manager for being great ambassadors for our club. Keep up the great work

In memory - Edwin Cordova
Sadly Edwin Cordova passed away this weekend. Edwin was a player in our All Age Mens div 3 team that won the Grand Final in 2009. Edwin had been playing with the team in division 2 this year. He has been a player with our club for several years. Edwin will be sorely missed by all who knew him, and all his team mates at Holroyd Rangers.

Mixing it with USA players
Saturday 31st July one of our All Age Ladies 2 joined in with a combined Granville team to play a match against a team of 16- 20 year old American girls. At very short notice Jackie from our AAL2 took on the challenge to take part in the team.
The combined Granville team played really well together considering that they hadn't had any chance to train together before hand. A great experience for all the girls.
