What a great result! Before this game CH had won all 9 games with a total of just 3 goals scored against them. We have now defeated the top ranked team, which shows we can beat anyone if we want to. Our first 15 minutes was scrappy & we could easily have conceded goals. Before the game we had no self belief that we had a chance against this team & it showed in our early play – too may passes going straight to CH players. As play went on & we kept them out our confidence grew & CH got frustrated. Late in the half our passing improved & we made some good runs into their half, eventually winning a couple of corners. Daniela struck a nice ball across the goals which their keeper tried to gather, but Natasha at the back post was on the spot applying pressure & the ball was fumbled over the line to put us up 1-0 right on half-time. An exciting 2nd half with both teams creating scoring chances. Emily & Daniela made good runs forward after some nice through balls. Megan came off her line well to block shots & put their strikers off. Great play at the back from Lauren, Natalia & Rochelle. Midfielders all tackled & passed well in the 2nd half. The coach was pretty excited after the game & you 11 girls deserve full credit for a job well done. Player of the match at central defence & with a short stint in the midfield was Danielle, with tenacious tackling & a determination to get to the ball first and take control.

Round 11 match results
Sat 14th / Sun 15th June
U/6 Black v Guildford Gold
A ball to the face before the game upset Amber but she struggled on bravely through the game. Maddison is tackling well and continues to improve every week. Patrick turns the ball away from danger very well and reads the play well. Jesse was impressed by the oppositions kicks in the air and is determined to learn to do the same himself. A good effort on a cold morning.
U/6 Green v PCYC White
Ahmed and Fayez continue to improve and are enjoying their soccer, but need to concentrate more. Jamal is very happy kicking towards the goal and his tackling and attacking has improved a lot. Waseem continues to play a very strong and determined game, keen to stop the opposition from scoring and to score goals himself.
U/7 Orange v Castle Hill United White
U/8 Blue v Lidcombe Waratah Won 4-0
U/8 Red v Winston Hills White
U/9 div 2 v North Rocks Won 2-0
U/10 div 5 v Castle Hill United Draw 1-1

U/13 div 3 v Granville Waratah Loss 5-0
U/16 div 2 v Baulkham Hills Loss 6-0
O35 div 4 v Dundas Draw 3-3
The good luck charm almost worked against Dundas on the weekend. Certainly a great game of football for Holroyd with a draw as good as a win this season. [Courtesy of MrAliB] The good luck charm nearly did work but a good result for us. A win won’t be too far away with maybe a bit more luck from somewhere else. Good to see the Big Moon bulldozer getting on the scoresheet. [Courtesy of Slow Fox]
O35 div 5 v Winston Hills Black Loss 2-1
Senior 3’s v Merrylands SFC (result pending)
Senior 6’s v Winston Hills Won 2-1
U/12 Girls div 1 v North Rocks Won 4-2
U/14 Girls div 1 v Kellyville Loss 3-0
U/16 Girls div 2 v Castle Hill RSL White Loss 3-0
A lot of chances created in the 1st half with several good shots on goal, but we could not get anything into the back of the net. CH with a counter attack and they score. 2nd half we tired with no subs and the play was more even. Again we had several good attempts on goal after some nice lead up work. A penalty in the last minute gave us a 3-0 loss. This was far from a one-sided game as the score might suggest and we probably had more chances on goal than CH, but we failed to convert our opportunities. Be more positive when approaching the ball and don’t hesitate. Great work from all players, but Katelyn played superbly with almost all of her passes going to our players feet, earning her the player of the match award.

Our 4 players – Ahmed, Fayez, Jamal and Patrick - battled bravely today. They all enjoyed the game and are learning to kick the ball away from the other team. Patrick scored a nice goal.
U/6 Green v Guildford Gold
A great game today that flowed from end to end of the field. Some great work from Jesse to kick the ball away from the other team. Some nice passing is starting to happen.

We barely got out of first gear in this game and should have won by a bigger margin against a team of 9 players. I’ll put it down to so many players carrying injuries, and the important thing is we got the win and the 3 points. Some good attacking play in the 1st half saw Lauren S. and Natasha score goals. In the 2nd half Lauren S. bagged another after a nice cross into the area. Megan with a shot off the post almost scored her first ever goal. Miray and Lauren S. made some good runs down the wings. Natasha played well as forward, a position she is not used to. Daniela and Danielle some good tackling and passing in midfield. Rebekah and Danielle both seemed to enjoy their stint in the midfield, with Rebekah playing some nice passes through and good overall play, earning her the player of the match award. Natalia pushed forward when the chance was there and contributed well in the front half of the field.

A great effort from the green machine today the score was 1-1 with 10 to go. A few decisions from the ref that were dodgy but there were more bad ones to Lid than us. Penalty missed and plenty by one striker and one headed off the line and we had 2 or 3 good chances also. Game played in good spirit only one yellow for kicking the ball into next week after a sus call. MrAliB did not play, maybe that was the difference. [Match report courtesy of Slow Fox]

No subs again today & another terrific gutsy effort from the girls. Our through balls were placed to perfection & Emily and Renea running up front had several good chances. Some great play from the backs played a controlled ball to our midfields feet who tucked a nice through ball wide for Emily. A super cross from Emily found Renea in front of goal who put away the shot. A free kick on the edge of the 18 yard line which Daniela put into the wall, it rebounded across to Mel who was holding her position on the left wing and Mel struck a superb finish into the top of the net – well done Mel for your 1st goal with us. A couple of nice finishes from Emily & Rochelle grabbed 2nd half goals for us. A great game from Katelyn & Daniela in the midfield, Danielle in the backs, & Emily at forward. Megan in goals was solid all game, earning her the player of the match. In a 2nd half flurry of action Megan deflected a shot on goal, then ever alert as she tried to get to her feet knocked down the 2nd attempt, & then dived onto the loose ball in front of their onrushing striker. A great effort from all players including those who carried injuries into the game – Natasha, Rochelle & Mel. The difference today was when we had a chance for a shot at goal we took the shot, and that is why we scored 6 goals.
