Round 14 match results

Sat 5th / Sun 6th July

U6 Holroyd Black v PCYC Red
U6 Holroyd Green v Guildford Gold
With players away from all teams some of the kids are playing in both games. Great game from Ahmad, Amber, Jamal, Jesse, Maddison, Patrick and our new player Kiara. Kiara was upset she didn’t score a goal but she has a strong kick and if she keeps trying she is sure to get one soon. Tackling and timing is getting better, but we all need to concentrate on the game. We have to score goals for us and stop the other team from scoring goals. Keep up the good efforts.

Hard and enjoyable game with BH a little slow to start and we had a few chances but unable to take advantage. 1-0 at half time. 2nd half BH had more control, 2nd goal was a penalty and the last 3 came in the last 10 minutes. Excellent performance from the Rangers and the result probably flattered BH a bit - I thought 3-0 was a fair result but that’s the way it is when the spoon is in your hand. [Courtesy of Slow Fox]

U16 girls div 2 v St Josephs Loss 4-0
If we don’t finish off our goals and if we don’t mark our players in defence this result is what happens. Too many defensive errors saw us concede soft goals. Lots of scoring chances all game long, but we did not take the chances when we had them. How different the game would have been if we’d put away 2 goals in the 1st half – we certainly had 2 great chances to do so. 2nd half again we had at least 4 good chances. If we get the ball into the 18 yard box take the first good shot at goal you can and strike it well - often you can catch the goalie off guard or get a deflection. I say it every week – to score goals we have to take shots. We created many chances but really only had 2-3 shots on goal – that’s not enough. 2nd half we tired with 10 players but they only had 11. Player of the match was Lauren for a great game at left back. Think about it – mark your players in defence, and take your shots in attack. We have a great team who can achieve great things but we have to do the basics right.

AAL div 5 v Wenty Waratah Won 5-0

AAL div 2 v Wenty Waratah Loss 3-2
